Hot Heroes and Magical Museums

Check out this National Day video done in celebration of the achievements of the everyday Singaporean. Done by Spin Network and commissioned by the National Heritage Board, it has a nice and cheerful ditty which makes you wanna tap your feet and sway along to the rhythm.

Oh and while you are at it, do also have a look at this one, which is produced by the same company. It is actually a corporate video for the National Heritage Board, done in a rather unconventional manner as far as corporate videos go.

Hope you enjoy them!

    on the 1st video:

HA! at least 1 agency got the tempo and songs right, alot better than some of the modern day, ahem, national day songs. 🙂

    on the 2nd video:

imho, still very corporate! but very refreshing to cast the little girl as the themeweaver through the museums. and i really like that you picked a girl who’s obviously Asian, but of very mixed Asian ethnic parentage. that’s a lovely touch.

Nice video. The lyrics of the 1st video is quite inspiring, even though the music did not quite appeal to me. It somehow is missing in something….but I can’t what.

I quite like the 2nd video and I have seen it quite a while ago. It’s nice to have a corporate video.

…I meant to say “I can’t tell what (is missing)”

The guitar introduction of the first video started pretty nice. I guess I just don’t like the chorus. It did not seem to fit with the rest of the music. The rest of the music is nice in a plain, simple way.

oceanskies: hehehe. thought i should point out why it doesn’t seem to gel. it’s because the “we can be heroes” refrain is a direct copy frm david bowie. so is that scene which mirrors beatles’ sgt peppers album cover. 🙂 quite clever though.
