Spotted this standee somewhere at People’s Park Complex recently. I wonder how the English teacher of the guy/girl who has copywritten this must feel.

If you are a potential customer of this business – which is a possibility since the advertisement proclaims that anybody from 1 to 70 can be their client – would you be convinced by this advertising message?

    It’s fun to use a certain language or spelling that we are all familiar with but I am not so sure about using it for a proper marketing/advertising collateral here. I’m already struggling to come to terms with that 2Fall2.

  3. i can’t take it. i cannot tahan this sort of spelling. not in emails, not in msn and not in phone texts. so definitely NOT on a poster!

    so no! even if it’s fun and all, it’s going to make me think twice before i call. i’ve to at least check out its website or facilities first.

    later the safety equipment as short-cut as the poster, then how?

    You know, maybe hundreds of years in the future, what you see here will be a norm eh? After all, we replace the thou, shalt and so on with what we have today eh?

    I was trying to figure out their objective of phrasing their messaging this way. LOL. I think they are seriously trying way too hard to stand out and be different.

    And in this case, they did cos you took a picture of it and they have that additional publicity. But then it’s not exactly positive kind of attention. haha 🙂

  7. I think the language, while reprehensible in most cases, is apt here because of the sk8 (sorry, skate) culture. Slightly anti-authoritarian and non-conformist. ie. sk8tn is l33t, not for prudes who dot their i’s and x their t’s.
