Future Leadership Summit NTUC

Calling all Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs)! The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) wants to make you a better leader.

Happening 24 July 2015 (Friday) at NTUC Centre from 8 am to 7 pm, the Future Leaders Summit 2015 is the union movement’s effort to cater to the growing numbers of PMEs in its membership.  Through the event, NTUC hopes to equip PMEs with leadership skills designed for the fast moving digital age.

Well, besides going for a holiday and taking a break after the mid-year exams (aka SA 1), we ought to also find ways to occupy our kids productively. As parents to a 10 year old boy in primary five, my wife and I are particularly concerned that our son should focus on filling in the gaps in his knowledge while still having a balanced holiday.

Billed as a “multi-million dollar fantasy musical”, LightSeeker is Resorts World Sentosa’s third original production and a first time collaboration with famed local songwriter Dick Lee. Produced by Andrea Teo (formerly of Under One Roof and Phua Chu Kang fame), the 90-minute musical boasts of spectacular visuals, acrobatic action sequences, stunning sets, and eye catching theatrical effects.

Well, perhaps these kids can. Especially on a good day?

Thanks to an invitation from Omy.sg, I had the chance to attend the grand finals of the RHB-The Straits Times National Spelling Championship 2013. Running for its second year, this competition for kids aims to raise their appreciation of spelling in language and literacy in a fun and competitive manner.  Targeting students in Singapore, it challenges them to out-spell each other through the awareness of phonemes and syllabication while enriching their vocabulary through the study of prefixes, suffixes and root words.
